WRITING WORKSHOP JUNE 16-18 AT BLINN COLLEGE

  

Brenham Lifetime Learning is offering a writing workshop, set for June 16-18.

“Wordsmithing 101: A Master Class in Finding Your Creative Voice” is a three-day class on the writing process for beginners as well as more experienced writers.

The instruction is geared to writing in both fiction and nonfiction, with special focus on memoirs.

Ron Rozelle is a 2007 inductee to the Texas Institute of Letters and has taught writing workshops at numerous conferences and universities.

He has been a featured author at the Texas Book Festival in Austin, and, his book, “My Boys and Girls are in There,” was the Washington County READ selection for 2015.

Day one topics include having something to say, the thing and the bigger thing, craft and voice, good rules for good writers and descriptions.

On the second day of the class, participants will critique the assignments of those who want put their words “out there.”

Day three will include critiquing short sections of bigger pieces that participants bring.

The workshop will from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 16 and 17, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, June 18.

The three-day workshop will be held at Blinn Student Center in rooms 2 and 3. The cost is $225, and the deadline to register is June 9.
