People all across the Brazos Valley are getting ready for the 150th Washington County Fair this weekend.

Activities kick off with the start of the Barbecue Cook-off tomorrow (Friday), with check-in at 10 a.m. The Chuck Wagon Cook-off and Judging will also start tomorrow afternoon, at 4 p.m.  In addition, there will be country creations exhibits and wine and beer samplings.

Saturday will host the annual fair parade, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Brenham. You can hear the parade live on KWHI AM 1280, FM 101.7, and kwhi.com.

Saturday will also feature Barbecue Cook-off judging, horseshoe, washer and bean bag tournaments, and entertainment by the Robbie Wooten Band.

Sunday will have the ranch rodeo, with books opening at 1 p.m., as well as entertainment from Cowboy Church.

Fair President David Wellman says all of the money raised at the fair goes to support the youth of Washington County.

Opening ceremonies and the 2018 Fair Queen crowning will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m., with live coverage on KWHI and kwhi.com.
