15TH ANNUAL HEAD FOR THE HILLS BIKE RIDE SATURDAY

The 15th Annual Head for the Hills Bike Ride takes place this weekend in Washington County.

The ride, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Washington County, gets underway Saturday morning at 8 a.m.  Riders can take 22-mile, 43-mile, or 66-mile routes through the Washington County countryside.

Roger Ross, with the Rotary Club, says this year’s ride will begin at Brenham High School, and conclude at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Ross says the Rotary Club and local charities have all benefitted greatly from the bike ride over the past 15 years.

Depending on the course and the speed of the rider, Ross says he expects the ride to wrap up around 3:30 p.m.  Pulled pork sandwiches and Blue Bell Ice Cream will be served afterwards, at the Fairgrounds food court.

Online registration for the event is closed, but riders can still register the day of the event beginning at 5:30 a.m.  Registration is $45.
