19 YEAR OLD SOMERVILLE WOMAN DIES IN HIGHWAY 6 ACCIDENT

A 19-year-old Somerville woman has died after a rollover accident on Hwy 6 early Monday.

Callie Jean Hardin was flown to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston from the College Station Medical Center after an accident just after 8:00am Monday morning. She passed away at 2:00pm.

The single-car accident had the northbound lanes in the 4000 block of Texas 6 shut down for almost an hour. Witnesses reported that the driver was ejected from the car and thrown 50 feet after her vehicle rolled several times. Police say it appeared Hardin was not wearing a seat belt.

Initial investigation says that Hardin tried to change lanes, swerved back in attempt to not hit another car, then overcorrected. Police said the car began to lose traction, left the road, and began to roll.

  1. Jolie, I am keeping the family in my prayers. So sad for a young life to be taken away so soon.

    1. Praying for her family and loved one. Much too young to have been taken so soon.
