WATER BOIL NOTICE IN EFFECT FOR NORTHEAST WASHINGTON COUNTY

A Boil Water notice is in effect in a part of Washington County.

On Thursday morning, “Corix Utilities (formerly Bluebonnet Rural Water Corp.)/Northeast Washington County Water System began experiencing a water outage Thursday morning affecting a large portion of the service area and a BOIL WATER NOTICE was issued until further notice.

This is notification the BOIL WATER NOTICE IS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  We expect to obtain the proper chemical samples to the laboratory tomorrow and we will notify you when these results are received.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires the system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption.  To ensure the destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.

The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify you through this same media.”
