2016 HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES KICKS OFF SATURDAY

  

The popular downtown summer concert series – Hot Nights, Cool Tunes – kicks off Saturday night in downtown Brenham.

Kicking off the event is the Newsboyz (newsboyz.com). This band is a premier party and dance band for Austin, with multiple vocalists and a 3-piece horn section. Bringing the Newsboyz to Downtown Brenham is Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, South Texas Tack, Bank of Brenham and Hermann Furniture.

The second week, Saturday, July 16, is Texas Unlimited Band (texasunlimitedband.com). This band is a versatile roadshow that is as comfortable playing rock ‘n roll and 80’s hits, as they are playing classic and current country. This event’s entertainment is sponsored by ReMax Advantage, Branded Boutique, K’s Mutt Hut and Woodson Lumber Company.

Returning to the Hot Nights stage Saturday, July 23 is a favorite band performing all styles of music – The Grooves (thegrooves.net). The Groove’s show is an exciting combination of classic rock, Motown, oldies, disco, plus all the most up to date dance music. Sponsors for this third week are Brenham National Bank, Spiess Insurance – Germania, Seidel Schroeder and Company and Paul LaRoche III DDS.

Saturday, July 30 will wrap up the concert series with the ever popular group Suede (suedeaustin.com). This explosive, electrifying band plays hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to today. Suede returns thanks to sponsors C. Michael Altman, DDS, PC, J&A Roofing – Jon and Amber Westerfeld, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing and Citizens State Bank.

In addition to the concert, the Stray Katz Car Club is holding a Cruise-in Car Show that will line West Alamo Street for every show. For more information on the Cruise-in, contact straykatzcctx@yahoo.com.
