If your a long time BOB then you understand the alignment of the football schedule because this was put in place by the long time coach to gain wins and make the playoffs year in and year out! Brenham would get clobbered in football with the Houston area and the stands will continue to dwindle down year after year due to the coaching staff in place not recruiting more talent but that also comes down to donated funds that are not in place as previously the coach had! It was a good run when Malcolm Brown was in Brenham and Jarrett Lee was at the helm not to mention Cortland Sutton who all have emerged as great NFL players so that’s something to be proud of! So long story short Brenham is in the alignment to get some easy wins and continue to make the first round playoffs then play some real teams and get knocked out first or second round year after year! It’s sad but it’s the truth if you know anything about Cub football! Drop the mic!
I wish Brenham could have been with the Greater Houston schools but I can understand why the UIL grouped the Districts with the way they did. With so many new schools opening up with 2500 students and up Class 5A is dwindling. Look at Willis and Hutto use to be 2A schools now they are 6A. Brenham is just in no man’s land.
Why is the realignment split? This makes no sense for this district!
Some schools may not offer all of the sports like others so the UIL has to take that into consideration. I completely agree with David as well that Brenham is in a tough spot between Bryan-College Station, Houston, and Austin. They can be pulled either way whenever the UIL needs a final school to fill its district.
