Curtis Fuchs was selected January 26th by the Santa Gertrudis Breeder International Shows and Exhibits committee to receive the honor.  Fuchs was chosen for his years of involvement with and promotion of the Santa Gertrudis Breed, Santa Gertrudis Breeders International, and the Mid-Coast Santa Gertrudis Association.

Fuchs served as an Agriculture Science teacher and FFA advisor in Texas for 43 years.  He and his family were present for the Dedication Ceremony, following the National Open Female Show and prior to the National Bull Show held in Watt Arena.

Nancy Wunderlich, President-Elect of Santa Gertrudis Breeders International, thanked Fuchs for his support and promotion of the breed, and for teaching her to find the goodness in everything she does and everyone she meets.

For the honor, Fuchs and his family were presented an engraved pewter platter.
