An internet personality who recently announced his intent to run for governor of Texas in 2022 kicked off his campaign today (Friday) in Brenham.

Chad Prather, host of “The Chad Prather Show” on BlazeTV and popular YouTuber, met this morning with the Brenham Banner-Press and KTEX/KWHI.  Prather has stops this afternoon at Blue Bell Creameries, Washington-on-the-Brazos, the Brenham Country Club and The Kenney Store.

Prather believes that limiting government and letting citizens take charge can make Texas a leader for other states to follow.

Prather says he felt it appropriate to choose Brenham as the starting location of his campaign, given the history of the city and the surrounding area.

Prather announced last July that he would seek election, after Governor Greg Abbott instituted a statewide mask mandate in response to COVID-19.

Known as the “Political Cowboy,” Prather’s main campaign issues concern the right to life, Second Amendment rights, free-market energy, illegal immigration, education, cutting regulations on businesses, and ending COVID-19 restrictions.
