Caldwell ISD is searching for a new head of schools.

Superintendent Andrew Peters is retiring at the end of December.  Peters joined the district in 2016 after previously serving as the superintendent in Marfa ISD since 2012.

In a statement to KWHI, Peters said these past five years have been “fantastic,” but he is “ready to really slow down.”  He said he plans to spend much of his time traveling around the country and being with his family.

In 2020, Peters was named the Education Service Center (ESC) Region VI Superintendent of the Year.  He was also chosen as this year’s winner of the Texas A&M College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) and Good Neighbor Partnerships Excellence in Action Award.

On Monday, the Caldwell School Board hired the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to begin searching for Peters’ replacement.
