WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS CANVASS CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT ELECTION RESULTS
Washington County Commissioners canvassed the results from the November 2nd constitutional amendment election at a special meeting this (Monday) morning.
County Election Administrator Carol Jackson said 2,660 voters participated in the election out of a total of 23,912 registered voters, a turnout of 11.13 percent.
All eight constitutional amendment proposals passed statewide and in Washington County.
Comparing 2021’s results to recent constitutional amendment elections, Jackson said 2019 saw 2,917 voters, a turnout of 12.6 percent, despite there being 767 fewer registered voters than in 2021.
Only 981 voters cast ballots in 2017’s election, a turnout of 4 percent.
Overall, Jackson said the 2021 election was “pretty quiet” but also “successful.”
