TxDOT TO HOLD VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING ON HIGHWAY 290-FM 1155 INTERSECTION
The public is invited to provide input early next month on proposed improvements to the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 1155 in Chappell Hill.

A virtual public meeting hosted by TxDOT is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, December 7th at 3 p.m. TxDOT is considering three concepts designed to improve traffic operations and enhance safety of the intersection, and is seeking feedback from the public.
The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded presentation from the project team with both audio and visual components. The meeting will remain available online through Wednesday, December 22nd.
In July 2020, the TxDOT – Houston District held a virtual public meeting to discuss the Highway 290 widening project from FM 1371 to Highway 6. After receiving comments regarding the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 1155, the TxDOT – Bryan District is collaborating with the Houston District to more closely evaluate the intersection and explore options.
The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potential displacements. Information about relocation assistance for displaced persons and businesses is available by calling 979-778-9607.
To log onto the virtual meeting, go online to www.txdot.gov and keyword search “US 290 at FM 1155.” The presentation will not be available on the website until December 7th.
