The President and CEO of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce has announced her resignation.

Wende Ragonis Anderson will resign from her position effective January 31, 2022, according to a press release issued this (Wednesday) morning.  A task force of Chamber Board Directors will begin a search to identify a successor.

Ragonis Anderson said this was a difficult decision, but that she felt called to take some time away from her career to focus on her family and personal business priorities.  She added she is proud of what she, the Chamber Board and staff have accomplished during her time in the role.

Ragonis Anderson became Chamber President in May 2019 after Page Michel stepped down from the position in February 2019.  She is currently the Principal Consultant for Ragonis Management Consulting, and was previously the City of Brenham’s Director of Community Services from 2012 to 2018.  Prior to that, she was the Sourcing Manager at Longwood Elastomers.

Chamber Board of Directors Chair Joe Robertson thanked Ragonis Anderson for her service to Washington County during “a very challenging time for our organization and our community.”  He said the Chamber has made “great strategic and operational progress under her leadership.”

Dr. John Turner, who will serve as Board Chair in 2022, said while the organization “will miss Wende’s passion for Washington County,” he is confident her successor “will bring new and exciting initiatives to the Chamber in 2022.”

  1. Wendy did a great job in her short time and I wish her luck in her new endeavors. The choice for replacement should be obvious,
Jane Hinze. She’s the one that keeps the Chamber together. Her hard work and dedication should not be overlooked. Who knows the chamber of commerce and its members and what they need and expect than someone who has spent the years she has there.
If a member needs anything she is always “Johnny on the spot”.
