TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED THURSDAY AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

  

Two people were arrested Thursday after a traffic stop on Highway 290.

Brenham Police report that Thursday morning, just before 10:00 AM, Cpl. Jimmy Ha initiated a traffic stop near the 1800 block of Highway 290 East.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Brittani Powers, 32 of Hockley, and the passenger, Charles Spinks, 44 of Hempstead, were both taken into custody. Powers was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Spinks was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Tampering or Fabricating Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair.  They were both transported to the Washington County Jail.
