BRENHAM PARKS AND REC BOARD TO DISCUSS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
The Brenham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will discuss capital plans over the next five years at its meeting Wednesday.
The board will go over a capital improvement plan for Fiscal Years 23-28. The plan is a community planning and fiscal management tool used to coordinate the location, timing and financing of capital improvements.
Public Works Director Dane Rau said the plan includes a description of proposed capital improvement projects ranked by priority, a year-by-year schedule of expected project funding and an estimate of project costs and financing sources. He said the plan is a working document and should be reviewed and updated annually.
In other discussion Wednesday, the board will hear updates on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Local Park Grant program for the Brenham Family Park and the Recreational Trails Grant program for the Hohlt Park nature trail. It will then receive an update on Parks and Recreation projects funded in Fiscal Year 21-22.
Board members will also act upon the election of a board chair and vice chair for a one-year term.
The board will meet Wednesday at noon in the second-floor conference room at Brenham City Hall.
