DEADLINE FRIDAY TO SIGN UP FOR SPRING EGGS ART WALK
Today (Friday) is the last day to register for Main Street Brenham’s annual “Spring Eggs Art Walk”.
Artists of all ages can invite springtime into downtown by designing giant, creatively decorated eggs and placing them at various locations.
Completed entry forms are due by 5 p.m. today. They can be found at the Washington County Visitor Center and online at https://downtownbrenham.com.
Approximately $1,450 in cash prizes will be awarded, including $200 for the Best of Show prize from Kieke Egg Farm. Prizes of $125 will also be given out in student and professional categories for most creative, most votes, judges’ choice, best Easter theme and best seasonal theme.
Other prize sponsors are Must Be Heaven, Brenham Foundry & Floral Company, 96 West, Brown Water Cigar Bar, The Pomegranate/Fork & Crumb, Las Americas Latin Cuisine, The Canyon Chick, Hermann Furniture, Glamfetti and Tres Chic Boutique.
Entrants can pick up wooden egg cut-outs at Brenham City Hall until Friday, March 18th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finished eggs are due to be delivered to display locations Thursday, March 24th and Friday, March 25th by 5 p.m. Locations will be provided to each artist via email.
Voting will open on Saturday, March 26th and run through Saturday, April 16th. Ballots will be available at participating sponsor locations and online. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 19th.
Competed eggs will also be up for auction during the art walk. The public can bid on an egg via a link on the website. Auction proceeds from each egg will be split 50/50 between the egg artist and Main Street Brenham, and are presented in addition to any prize money won.
