OVER 1,500 EARLY VOTERS FOR PRIMARY RUNOFF; EARLY VOTING ENDS FRIDAY

As early voting for the primary runoff election draws to a close today (Friday), over 1,500 people have voted thus far.

Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson said 394 people voted on Thursday, including 373 Republican voters and 21 Democratic voters.

The four-day total for early voters is 1,559, made up of 1,452 Republicans and 107 Democrats.  Out of 24,174 registered voters for the runoff election, that is a 6.45 percent turnout at the end of Thursday.

The Washington County Courthouse Annex will be open today for one final day of early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  After that, voters will need to go to one of four designated polling locations on Tuesday.  Those are the Washington County Event Center in Precinct 1, the Brenham VFW Hall in Precinct 2, the Brenham American Legion Hall in Precinct 3 and the Blinn College Student Center in Precinct 4.
