An assistant principal at Brenham Middle School is moving up and switching campuses.

Brenham ISD on Wednesday announced the promotion of Steven Siemsglusz to Brenham Elementary School Principal.

Siemsglusz is a 1996 graduate of Brenham High School who has served in Brenham ISD for 20 years.  He began his administrative career at Brenham Elementary School as an assistant principal before shifting to Brenham Middle School.

Siemsglusz was previously a teacher at Brenham Middle School and Brenham High School, and was a basketball and baseball coach for several years before going into school administration.  He earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.

Siemsglusz said he has “enjoyed serving and growing at Brenham Middle School” and is looking forward to taking on this new role.

The principal position was formerly held by Kim Rocka.  Brenham ISD Communications Specialist Brooke Trahan said Rocka has been hired as the Coordinator of Elementary Instruction in Carthage ISD.
