The Northwestern State Softball Team placed 14 players on the Easton/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar Athlete List, and one of them is from right here in Brenham.

Junior First Baseman Kat Marshall, who played her high school softball for the Brenham Cubettes, made the list. In order to qualify, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

On the field this past season for the Lady Demons, Marshall had a .253 batting average with seven home runs and 26 RBIs. She also led the team with 11 doubles and 18 extra-base hits.

Marshall was second on the team in multi-RBI games including driving in a career-best six runs against Grambling in a game that occurred back in March.

She is the daughter of Eddie and Rebecca Marshall of Brenham.
