BURTON LADY PANTHERS BEAT IOLA TO MOVE INTO TIE FOR THIRD
The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team avenged an early season loss to the Iola Lady Bulldogs with a 59-44 victory last (Tuesday) night at the Burton High School Gym.
Iola won a close first quarter 10-9, but then Burton bounced back to outscore them 12-8 in the second quarter. The Lady Panthers took a 21-18 lead into the locker room at half time.
In the second half, it was all Burton as they won the third quarter 19-12, and the fourth quarter 18-14.
Tiara Burns led the Lady Panthers with 28 points, while Sierra Hancock added 15 points.
With the win, Burton now moves into a tie with Iola for third place. Both teams have 3-3 district records.
The Lady Panthers will next travel to Snook on Friday at 6:15pm.
