FORMER BURTON STUDENTS BRINGING HIP-HOP SHOW HOME

Two Burton ISD alumni are returning home and bringing a hip-hop show to Washington County with them.

Anthony Meyer and Jason Diodato, who are known by their rapper names A-Dawg and Yung Delirious, will be performing at the Burton Short Stop Ice House next Friday, May 19, from 8-11pm.

The show is free of charge and is open to all ages.

Diodato was born and raised in Brenham, and graduated from Burton High School in 2017.  He moved to Houston to pursue a full-time music career.

Diodato later joined the Army, but after realizing it wasn’t for him, then moved on to studying music at Loyola University in New Orleans.

As Yung Delirious, his album “Beautiful Mistake” debuted at #26 on the I-Tunes hip hop charts in November 2022.

Like Diodato, Meyer has been pursuing a hip-hop/rap music career for years both as a writer and a performer.

Meyer said he has had a long-time passion for music from playing the snare drum in the fifth grade all the way up to being named a Burton High School drum major in his senior year.

Meyer said on his Facebook page that in addition to rap, he is also going to debut a couple of country songs that he has been experimenting with. He will also be giving audience a preview of his upcoming album.
