3 MEN ARRESTED AFTER HIDDEN CASH FOUND IN VEHICLE

Three men were arrested in Fayette County after bundles of cash were found hidden in their vehicle.  Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Tuesday just after noon, Investigator David Smith with the Fayette County Interdiction unit stopped a white 2014 Jeep traveling west on IH-10 near Flatonia. After meeting with the driver and two occupants of the vehicle Smith became suspicious of criminal activity.  Consent to search the vehicle was given by the driver. Smith immediately observed tampering with the interior paneling of the vehicle and quickly discovered a bundle of U.S. currency. A complete search of the vehicle uncovered several bundles of U.S. currency in the roof, dash, and quarter panels.  A total of $189,151 dollars was removed from the vehicle. Assisting during the traffic stop was Flatonia Police Chief Perry Kram, Investigator Pritchard along with Sgt Randy Thumann.

Abraham Tamez(33), Raul Garza(47) and Hernan Tamez(36) were arrested for felony money laundering and transported to the Fayette County Jail.

  1. Yep…cash coming from Houston is headed west to Laredo or Del Rio for crossover into Mexico. More contraband than ever is crossing back n forth along the border w Mexico. Whats odd is America is in a war against terrorism on the other side of the globe where goat ranchers and farmers who have been under surveillance for 20yrs apparently acquire $65 million tanks and unlimited assault rifles and ammo while literally feet from US soil thousands of people are killed monthly as part of daily business moving drugs and people north and getting cash and weapons going south. I guess it proves oil & oil money are priorities over drugs and drug money. Maybe Washington DC shoud ask Mexican border residents if they ever feel terrorized…..guess doing whats right and fair is an extinct concept in this world

  2. I-10 East bound: drugs are traveling 1-10 West bound: felony money laundered, traveling. Does this make sense?
