Three million dollars’ worth of cocaine was found hidden in a vehicle on Interstate 10 Tuesday. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office SGT Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a Ford Fusion on Interstate 10 at 2:45 Tuesday afternoon for a traffic violation. After speaking to the driver and his girlfriend SGT Thumann became suspicious that the vehicle may be involved in transporting illegal narcotics. SGT Thumann was given consent to search the vehicle.
SGT Thumann deployed his canine Lobos to conduct and exterior sweep of the vehicle. Lobos alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics and followed the odor inside the vehicle to the cars seat. SGT Thumann and Investigator Smith located aftermarket compartments built into every seat and removed approximately 32 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $ 3 million dollars. The driver Cesar Garcia-Villalon (20) and passenger Paola Trejo-Gonzalez (21) both from Mexico were arrested for felony cocaine possession and released to the jail staff at the Fayette County Jail.
