4 DEAD IN FIERY ACCIDENT IN WALLER, 290 WESTBOUND CLOSED

A Chevy Impala was speeding westbound on 290 when it struck a Volkswagen in the rear.

The Volkswagen was forced from the road, and subsequently caught fire, killing all four people inside.

There currently appear to have been two adults in the front of the Volkswagen, and possibly a younger passenger in the rear. The age of the 4th passenger is unknown.

The Impala’s driver was transported to St. Joseph in College Station with unknown injuries.

Four people have died after a two-vehicle accident in Waller County.

Occurring just after 1am, the wreck left one vehicle in flames in the westbound lanes of Highway 290 near the FM 359 exists.The four victims were in the vehicle, and discovered once the flames were extinguished by first responders.

The status of the second driver has not been released at this time.

As of this time the westbound lanes on 290 are blocked, and could remain closed until 1 p.m.
