FRIEDENS CHURCH CELEBRATE 125TH ANNIVERSARY

  

Friedens Church of Washington celebrated their 125th Anniversary on Sunday October 11, 2015, with the day’s events began with a musical recital of church organist and pianist.

Hilma Holle Stolz,  Raymond 'Dickie" Dickschat, Becky Holle Barton, Carol Dickschat, Bonnie Mohr, Dean Dickschat and Dennis Boring performed over those attending

The morning worship was attended by over 360, including Pastor Dean Dickschat, Rev. Dr. Liz Nash, The Children's Choir, Bonnie Mohr- soloist, Pastor Greg Felder, Rev. Ron Trimmer, Dennis Boring, Rev. Jesse Campbell, and Rev. Bill Royster.

The bar-b-que lunch for 400 plus was followed by the time of remembrance, celebration and sharing.

Recognized as the oldest in attendance were William "Pete" Wellmann, Mildred Kolkhorst Breedlove and Joyce Wechan, who also cut the anniversary cake.

Bonnie J and Daniel Mohr were recognized as the longest married couple in attendance.

Former pastors and their descendants were also recognized.

Pastor Dean Dickschat brought the message and the music for the afternoon service was provided by Allison Crowson, Sam Murski and Keweyn Emshoff.

The Historical Book and CD is available, which includes the years 1890 to 2015 with pictures, extensive memories sections, statistical information and cemetery listings.
