BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER HIRING NEW JR. HIGH PRINCIPAL

The Brenham ISD Board of Trustees will consider the hiring of a new principal for the Brenham Junior High School at their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night.
According to Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin, the previous principal, Jamie Rochell, resigned from his position on Monday, April 4th.
Rochell came to Brenham ISD in April 2021 from Fort Bend ISD. Chaplin told KWHI that Rochell did not elaborate on the reason for his resignation.
The Brenham ISD Board of Trustees meets Tuesday at 6pm in Lecture Rooms 111 and 113 of the Brenham High School.
Other agenda items include:
Possible approval of an access agreement between the City of Brenham and Brenham ISD for an easement across the Brenham Middle School property.
Possible approval of a technology bid for the purchase of classroom interactive displays and installation.
Possible approval of a Frontline Evaluation Suite software license.
They will also hear the annual report of the Board of Trustee’s continuing education hours.
Reality is that most of the time employers don’t discuss those matters in public due to Human Resource laws and regulations. If the district was sued, I’m sure you would be the first to post “this district is wasting my tax dollars by releasing information and being in a lawsuit.” Administrators, teachers, parents, guardians and most of all kids are not perfect but we need more people trying to be part of a solution rather than just pointing out more problems. If we spent half the time we spend whining and griping and more time investing in each other we might just turn some things around.
So on December 16, 2020, Bryan Bryant was dismissed, and “Dr. Chaplin did not elaborate on the reason for the decision, only saying it was “time for a leadership change.” ”
Now, this one is leaving. I’m sure that the district will be as closed-mouth about this as they are about other issues, and will cite ‘confidentiality issues’ to prevent them relating any information. Strange that the district seems to be in so much turmoil with resignations and unhappy teachers, yet it can certainly keep its hand out and expect the voters to pay substantial increases in their property taxes as part of a building program. I guess it amounts to ‘appearances are more important than what is really going on.’
Surely someone at the school board has to wonder why all of these administrators who come from other districts don’t ever stick around….or is it because of the school board?
