BRENHAM CUBETTES BEAT RUDDER 51-44 IN DISTRICT ACTION

After a tough loss to A&M Consolidated, the Brenham Cubette Basketball Team got back on to the winning track Friday night with a 51-44 victory over Bryan Rudder.

The first quarter was close with Brenham leading by only one point 9-8. However, the Cubettes then dominated the second quarter outscoring Rudder 13-5 to take a 22-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Rudder outscored Brenham 14-12 to cut the lead to 34-27. Each team scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, and the Cubettes walked away with the win.

Arianah Lewis led Brenham with 21 points. Yasmine Gaines and Jayde Powell had eight points each.

The Cubettes improve to 11-8 overall and 2-1 in district.

They will return to action on December 28 as they head to Waco Midway for a tournament.
