A 16-YEAR OLD JUVENILE CHARGED IN CALDWELL MURDER

  

A 16-year old juvenile male has been arrested in the death of a Caldwell man.

On Wednesday,  officers from the Caldwell Police Department assisted by members of the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, Burleson County District Attorney’s Office, Texas Rangers and Texas Highway Patrol conducted a homicide investigation at a residence on Old Somerville Road in Caldwell Texas. Responding Officers discovered a deceased black male, later identified as Steven Bryant, who displayed signs of trauma.

Investigators found evidence at Bryant’s residence as well as Bryant's vehicle, which was parked at the home and was ransacked.  Bryant’s body was transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner Office for an autopsy. The preliminary autopsy report indicated that Bryant’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

On Thursday, investigators developed information which led to the Thursday evening arrest of a 16 year old juvenile male charged with Capital Murder in the shooting death of Steven Bryant.

The Juvenile appeared at a detention hearing on Friday, and is now being held in a juvenile detention facility.

The Police Department is continuing their investigation of this incident.
