Texas Governor Greg Abbot says Texas’ future is extremely bright.
Abbott, speaking to the Reagan Day Dinner in Bryan last (Saturday) night, said the state is number one in the nation for economic development and there are more students graduating from high school and college than ever before.
The governor also told the crowd that the state continues to work on improving protection for law enforcement even after passing the police protection act last session.
However, Abbott also cautioned there are still two major issues to work on: One of those is lowing property taxes. The other is increasing pay for teachers.
The Reagan Dinner is annually hosted by the Republican Party of Brazos County.
