ACCIDENT NEAR CARMINE SENDS FOUR TO HOSPITAL MONDAY

  

A major traffic accident Monday morning near Carmine sent 4 to the hospital.  The accident occurred on State Highway 237 near Hinze Road and involved a pickup truck and an 18 wheeler.  Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that several calls reporting the accident came into dispatch just before 8:00 Monday morning.  He states that multiple units from both Fayette and Washington County responded to the accident including an Air Evac helicopter.  One person from the pickup was transported to St. Marks Hospital in La Grange and 3 others were transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.  Investigating the accident were DPS Troopers Sgt. Jeremy Weiser, Mason Harnett, and Joshua Burger.  No information about how the accident happened is available from DPS at this time.
