A second candidate has filed for the Ward 4 seat on the Brenham City Council.

Adonna Ann Saunders, owner of A Wild Hair salon in Brenham, filed Friday for the position.  Saunders has been the owner of A Wild Hair for around 20 years.

Saunders said she is hoping that, if elected, the council can work with the public more openly and enthusiastically, in order to bring growth to the area.

Saunders feels her budgeting skills and business ethics would be a good fit for the council, and could not only bring in new businesses, but also keep local people working in Brenham.

On January 28th, current Ward 4 Councilmember Danny Goss announced his bid for re-election.  Goss was first elected in 2005, and will be seeking a fifth term in office.

Friday was the deadline to file for a spot on the ballot.  Early voting begins April 22nd, and Election Day is May 4th.

The only other contested race will pit incumbent mayor Milton Tate against former mayor and Washington County Judge Dorothy Morgan.

Ward 2 Council member Albert Wright did not draw an opponent.

There will be no contested races on the BISD School Board ballot.

All four incumbents are unapposed and will not require an election.
