A&M OPENS INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY AT RELLIS CAMPUS

Texas A&M has opened its multi-million dollar research facility dedicated to infrastructure on the new RELLIS campus.

The Center for Infrastructure Renewal will address growing needs in infrastructure repair and construction.  Inside the $80 million building, will be 3-D printers, research labs and a wind wall to test structures in hurricane force winds.

Officials say their work will have an impact on everything from transportation, power, water, engineering to cutting edge design.

Center director Zachary Grasley says the center, "Is going to make the infrastructure more efficient, more affordable and safer."

The facility plans to add at least seven faculty positions as they grow.
