ANIMAL SERVICES SEEKING HELP

Brenham Animal Services is asking for help adopting and/or fostering the current 41 dogs and 17 cats in the shelter.

Animal Services are taking steps to get animals adopted such as using Facebook Live, offering reduced adoption fees, and making arrangements by phone and online.

The staff has made adopting more convenient by offering to deliver the new pet so people may continue to follow social distancing practices and guidelines.

Most of the dogs are large, but they do have a few small dogs and puppies.

Foster caregivers who can commit to fostering a dog or cat for 4 weeks or more is also needed.

For more information, contact Animal Services at 979-337-7351

  1. If you have a spare room in your home, consider fostering one of the shelter cats. (Or dogs.) Especially if you’re staying at home as much as possible, as you should be right now. You’ll be making it possible for an animal to NOT have to spend day after day penned up in a small cage.

We’ve been fostering for a while, keeping the shelter cats isolated from our own animals. It’s only a little extra work, and lots of fun.

    1. I think that’s an excellent idea, but I have a cat whose 12 or 13 and doesn’t like change. It could be brutal
