AREA SCHOOLS MEET T.E.A ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS

  

The Texas education Agency on Thursday released the 2015 state accountability rates for more than 1,200 school districts and charters, as well as the more than 8,600 campuses state-wide, with 94 percent achieving the rating of “Met Standard.”

For Brenham ISD, Brenham High School, Brenham Middle School, Brenham Junior High, Brenham Elementary and Krause Elementary all received the Met Standard rating.

Pride Academy received a “Met Alternative Standard.

Only Alton Elementary received an “Improvement Required” rating.

In order to receive a “Met Standard” or “Met Alternative Standard” rating, districts and campuses must meet targets on three indexes, Index 1 (student achievement), Index 2 (student progress), Index 3 (Closing Performance Gaps), and Index 4 (Post- Secondary Readiness).

Brenham High School received an “Academic Achievement in Science” distinction.

In the Bellville ISD, all the schools received the “Met Standard” designation, as did Somerville ISD.

Navasota High School, Navasota Junior High, John C Webb Elementary and High Point Elementary School in the Navasota ISD received the “Met Standard” rating. WB Bizzell Academy and Navasota Intermediate received an “Improvement Required” rating.

All schools in the Burton ISD received the “Met Standard” designation.

Last year, 90 percent of the districts met statewide standards.
