ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AT BLINN SUNDAY

  

The Grammy Award-winning group Asleep at the Wheel opens the 2017-2018 Performing Arts Series at Blinn College in Brenham tomorrow (Sunday).

Led by founder Ray Benson, Asleep at the Wheel performs at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Dr. W. W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center on Blinn College’s Brenham campus.  The group out of Austin plays a unique country style, blending traditional country and swing.  Asleep at the Wheel has sold more than 1.5 million records, recorded 20 albums, posted 20 singles on the Billboard country chart, and won 10 Grammy Awards.  Their songs include “Route 66”, “Boogie Back to Texas”, “Choo Choo Ch’Boogie” and “The Letter that Johnny Walker Read”.
