AUSTIN CO. HOLDS ‘BACK TO SCHOOL HEALTH FAIR’

Austin County families took advantage of getting an A-plus jump on health at this year’s “Back to School Health Fair”.

Nearly 300 youths and parents attended the event at Sealy High School.

Families were provided with the opportunity to visit with a host of health-related services at no cost in preparation for school.

More than 250 backpacks with school supplies were given to families with students registered in Austin County schools and Met Head Start.  This year’s backpacks were sponsored by Woodmen Life and Amerigroup.

Organizers wished to thank the Sealy Independent School District as well as the volunteers and nearly 30 vendors in making the event such a success.

The “Back to School Health Fair” was sponsored by the Department of State Health Services and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County.
