AUSTIN CO. S.O. INVESTIGATING BURGLARY

  

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday morning burglary of a home near Wallis.

At about 3:30 a.m., someone entered the home of an elderly lady on FM 1093 west of Wallis.

The homeowner says when she yelled out, the intruder fled.    The victim contacted family members and then called 9-1-1.

The victim’s purse containing cash, her driver’s license and other items was stolen.

Deputies recovered evidence at the scene, including a screwdriver that was used to force entry into the residence.

Sheriff Jack Brandes urged anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers 979-865-2949.

Brandes added “If anyone notices suspicious activity, they should call 9-1-1 immediately.”
