AUSTIN CO. SHERIFF GETS TRAUMA KITS

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office received a donation to help in medical emergency situations.

The office has received 55 QuikClot Belt Trauma Kits from the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association.  Those kits have been distributed to each of the county’s deputies.

These trauma kits are lightweight and can be worn on the deputies’ belts to be used to stop hemorrhaging in the event medical personnel are not immediately available.  The kit comes in a black pouch and includes Gloves, CPR Shield, Tourniquet and QuikClot Combat Gauze.

Sheriff Jack Brandes says he greatly appreciates the support and generosity of the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association for providing the kits, which could mean the difference between life and death.
