AUSTIN COUNTY AGRILIFE EXTENSION OFFICE TO OFFER DIABETES PROGRAM
The Austin County AgriLife Extension Office will be offering a Do Well, Be Well” diabetes program August 10, 17, 24,31, and September 8th at 6:30pm at the AgriLife Extension off located at 20 S. Holland St in Bellville.
The goal of the program is to help participants learn how to manage their meal plan, and self care to maintain their blood glucose levels that are recommended by the American Diabetes Association, and is sponsored by Bellville St. Joseph’s Health Center and the department of State Health and Human Services.
The classes are conducted by area physicians and health and nutrition professionals.
Pre-registration will run until Aug. 3. The cost for the program is $30 per person (add $10 as of Aug. 4). Evening refreshments will be served at each meeting. Caregivers of type 2 diabetes individuals are encouraged to participate, too.
