AUSTIN COUNTY SEEKING GRANT FOR BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

Austin County Judge Carolyn Bilski believes there are several ways to fight crime and one of them doesn’t involve law enforcement officers and jails.

When the Austin County Commissioners meet Monday at the courthouse in Bellville they are expected to apply for a grant through the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division to help the Boys and Girls Club.

Judge Bilski says the Club is expanding out from Bellville to Industry and they need additional money to operate.  She says the Club is helping with so many of the needs of the youth of the county.

.

Judge Bilski says the rules have changed on how non-profits groups can apply for grant funding and they need to go through the process.

The Austin County Commissioners meet Monday at nine at the courthouse in Bellville.
