AUTHORITIES RESPOND TO TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON FM 2621

Update @ 4:50 p.m.: According to Brenham Highway Patrol Sergeant Alease Wilson, the four-door sedan was headed westbound on FM 2621, when it swerved into the eastbound lane of traffic, colliding with the oncoming truck that was unable to stop in time.  Sgt. Wilson said troopers onsite discovered that one of the car’s tires had a blowout.

Sgt. Wilson said there were injuries at the scene, but none of them were serious.

Original Story @ 6:57 a.m.: The FM 50 detour in Washington County has seen its third accident in four weeks.

Authorities were called out just after 3 p.m. Tuesday to a two-vehicle accident at FM 2621 and FM 390.  At the scene, they found a four-door sedan and a milk truck had collided with one another.

Both of the vehicles suffered damage; however, information is not yet available on the nature of the accident, or if anyone at the scene suffered injuries.

Two fatal accidents occurred in July on FM 2621, which is being used as a detour due to the closure on FM 50.

Drivers are asked to slow down on the detour route, as well as any roads they may not be familiar with.

  1. SLOW DOWN!! Maybe put a flashing light or speed bumps/rumble strips etc. to help slow people down!! This is OBV a crash site!!!
