BELLVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOOTING

  

A Bellville man has been charged with murder after a shooting Wednesday night in Bellville.

Police officers were dispatched at 9:30 p.m. to 729 East Hill Street to a report of a shooting.  According to Bellville Police Lieutenant Jason Smalley, officers arrived to find a victim had been shot once in the upper abdomen with a 9mm handgun.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old David Adam Kehlenbeck of Bellville, was Life-Flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where he was later pronounced dead.  His body has been taken to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

According to Smalley, 41-year-old Jason Edward Geick admitted to shooting the victim.  He was booked into the Austin County Jail for Murder, with bond set at $100,000.

The matter remains under investigation at this time.

    1. Because people are INNOCENT until proven GUILTY, that’s why. People who commit murder don’t generally admit to shooting someone, unless it was done in self defense, in which case it may be justified.
