BHS 2019 GRADUATE KILLED IN ROLLOVER ACCIDENT NORTHEAST OF BRENHAM

A May graduate of Brenham High School was killed in a rollover crash early this (Monday) morning.

According to DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan, 18-year-old Rhead Robbins of Brenham was pronounced dead after an accident on FM 2621 north of Randermann Road, about eight miles northeast of Brenham.

According to Sgt. Morgan, Robbins was travelling shortly after midnight at an unsafe speed, and lost control after trying to turn a curve.  He was ejected out of the 2002 Toyota pickup he was driving; Sgt. Morgan said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct Three Justice of the Peace Ken Tofel.

Robbins was a 2019 graduate of Brenham High School, and a member of the Cub Football team.

The Brenham ISD released an announcement Monday afternoon:

Our Cub Nation family is heartbroken today as we mourn the loss of one of our recent graduates.

Brenham ISD counseling staff will be available at Brenham High School Tuesday, July 23, from 9-11am and 1-3pm for students who may need emotional support during this difficult time.

We ask our district and community to please help us support those who are grieving and dealing with this terrible tragedy.
