BHS TENNIS ROLLS PAST WALLER, 15-4
The Brenham tennis team traveled to Waller Tuesday and beat the Bulldogs 15-4.
Brenham took a commanding 5-2 lead after the round of doubles.
Winning for the Cubs were girls #1team of Simone Richarz/Karlie Weidemann, 8-4,; #3 team of Amanda Grimm/Kathryn Robinson 8-1.
Winning in boys doubles were the #2 team of Josh Sicola/Hunter Griffin 8-1, and the #3 team of Andrew Trostle/Aren Holt 8-0.
The mixed doubles team of Brennan Upchurch and John Schroeter won 8-2.
Coach Roy Thibodeaux said, “I thought we got off to a great start and I wanted them to keep the momentum heading into the singles and they did just that.”
Winning in boys singles were: #1 Daniel Ward, 6-4, 5-7 (10-7 super tie-breaker); #2 Hunter Griffin, 6-3, 6-3; #3 Andrew Trostle, 6-1, 6-4; #4 Josh Sicola, 6-2, 6-4; #5 Luke Henkhaus, 8-6; and Dalton Barron, 8-0.
On the girls side winning for Brenham were: #2 Kaitlyn Hamilton, 6-4, 7-5; #4 Tori Bosse, 8-4; #5 Amanda Grimm, 6-3, 6-3; and #6 Brennan Upchurch. 6-4, 6-4.
Coach Thibodeaus says, “I was proud to see the team bounce back after a tough loss to Magnolia. We are continuing to get better as the season goes on which is what I like to see happen as a coach.”
The team will close out the season with a home match against Spring Woods Tuesday October 7th at 3:30.
