Brannon Industrial Group (BIG) is celebrating its launch of services to City of Brenham residents with a dress-up contest.

BIG is inviting its customers to get pictures of themselves all dressed up while taking their new trash and recycling carts to the curb.  Customers can wear anything from superhero or animal costumes to wedding attire, and are encouraged to get creative.

BIG will throw a block party for the streets of the winning entries, once large gatherings are allowed.

The contest began Tuesday and runs through June 15th.  To enter into the contest, visit https://bigcompany.com/big-street-party.

  1. City council, mayor, city manager, should all dress up like burglars for stealing from
    the Brenham citizens.

  2. How about a contest to see who actually gets things picked up on the day mentioned on the flyer they received? Or an answer from an inquiry on the useless app? Less frills and better service, please.

  3. I think I will dress up like the victim of a robbery to represent having to pay more for half the service while being required to store big ugly plastic bins that I do not want and do not like on my property. They should have to pay me rent for that space…..just saying!

    1. Half the service? So they leave half your trash every time they pick up? Please. The “service” is trash pickup. Period. If they pickup ALL your trash, whether it’s once a week or every day, then you are getting the same/ full service- not half of it!!! I’m so sorry you have to put bags of trash in a provided, very sturdy trash bin. Yes they’re big, and kinda bulky, but I would LOVE to use them at my house instead of the crap ones you buy at Walmart or home improvement stores with lids that don’t fit and NO WHEELS. And speaking of, those from Walmart/H.I. Stores cost WAY more than the $15/year in additional “fees” you are paying for the SERVICE of TRASH PICKUP.
(And before you tell me to be quiet because I live in the county and not the City, I also have a house in town. And I LOVE the bins!)
BIG is a great company with great people. I’m glad the City finally started using a LOCAL company for these services. Yes there are some changes to adapt to, but good grief! If this is what y’all have to complain about you live a very charmed life. There are folks in this town who would love to have the problem of a big bulky trash bin rather than the financial or health issues they have. Try finding the GOOD in this. Your blood pressure will thank you. #perspectiveiseverything

      1. Many of the major streets last week still had empty bins sitting days after p/u…. In the street shoulder. People will likely leave them there & carry the bags to the bin. The reason is I’m sure the bins are big & difficult for some people to move. I have the small size & its still big & difficult to maneuver.

      2. Any post I made was not directed at BIG, I have no issue with the company, but have a huge issue with the city and the way they handled this conversion. I am forced to store TRASH on my property for an entire week in a big ugly bin that I have no place to store. Previously I received twice per week service and was able to keep my trash in a small container that did not take up much space, so yes, that is half the service for a larger price. I do not view that as a good deal. In addition to having less service, I have found that many of the elderly people in my area are struggling with these huge bins and need help to move them. I have helped anytime I can, but I suspect someone is going to get hurt as they struggle with these things. But hey, you are happy so maybe those of us who have a different perspective should shut up and go away….or maybe we will not!
