BISD BOARD TO DISCUS ‘FRONTLINE WORKERS’ RESOLUTION

The Brenham School Board will discuss a request to the Governor, when they meet Tuesday night.

The board will discuss and is expected to adopt a resolution requesting Governor Abbott to include school district personnel in the official expert vaccine allotment panel’s definition of frontline workers.

That would allow school personal quicker access to vaccinations for COVID-19.

Also, on Tuesday’s agenda:

The presentation of the VFW Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher Program award winner, Brenham Elementary School fourth-grade English-language arts teacher Heather Kaldis.

The board will also discuss and likely approval of the 2019-2020 District Financial Audit.

They’ll also receive a facility assessment report and vote on giving the superintendent the authority to purchase a replacement chiller at the High School, for no more than $250,000.

They’re also expected to approve the purchase of four new school buses and adopt the 2021-2022 district instructional calendar.

Brenham ISD Board of Trustees will hold a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The public can access the meeting on the Brenham ISD's You Tube channel.
