The Brenham ISD is looking for positive adult role models to mentor and tutor students.

The Children Are Really Special program, known as CARS, has been a successful part of the Brenham ISD for over 20 years.

Brenham ISD officials say that for many students today, learning requires more than a classroom setting can provide.

For 30 minutes, once a week, a mentor can change the academic course of a child’s life.

BISD officials say their greatest areas of need are:

At Alton Elementary School, Mondays or Thursdays from 11:20-11:50 a.m., contact Lynn Prinz,

Brenham Elementary School, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 12:00-12:30 p.m., contact Sunne Wheaton,

And Krause Elementary School, Mondays or Thursdays from 10:30-11:00 a.m.; and Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 9:10-9:40 a.m., contact Lisa Bolcerek,
