BISD TO SPEND JUST UNDER A MILLION FOR FURNITURE FOR ALTON AND BRENHAM MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Brenham School Board voted to spend just under a million dollars to furnish  and provide the latest technology for the new Alton Elementary School and the renovated Brenham Middle School during last (Monday) night’s meeting.

Assistant Brenham School Supt. Byron McAdams said the school district has a contract with Educator’s Depot for Furniture to furnish the new schools and various other companies for the technology.

McAdams says this is well under budget.

The BISD will spend $746,202 for the furnishings and an even $250,000 for the technology.

Scotty Lewis of the consulting firm of LAN and Associates says that in spite of the rain, the construction and renovations are on target and should be ready for the upcoming school year.

The two projects come from a $26 million bond issue that Brenham School district voters approved in May of 2012.
