BLINN BOARD TO DISCUSS DISTRICT-WIDE MASTER PLAN

The Blinn Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday to hold discussion on the College’s district-wide master plan.

Trustees will discuss the plan during a workshop prior to their regular meeting.  The board in October 2019 authorized Blinn officials to seek proposals for the development of a plan, which would cover Blinn’s entire 13-county area.

The plan will provide Blinn with specific goals for repairs, renovations, expansion, demolition, and capital projects within all of the College District’s facilities and properties.

At its regular meeting Tuesday, the board will consider allowing Blinn administrators to negotiate and execute a contract for construction manager at risk services for upgrades to Leroy Dreyer Field at the Blinn-Brenham Campus.

Proposed improvements at Leroy Dreyer Field include a new locker room building, renovation of the existing locker room, renovation of the press box, and repairs to the outfield wall.  The overall project budget for the first phase of the project is $2.5 million.

Trustees will also go through the results of an economic impact study, measuring the total economic impact of the College’s activity to the 13 counties it serves.

The board will meet Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. for the workshop and at 5:30 p.m. for the regular meeting.  Public access to the meetings will be limited to rooms 2 and 3 of the Brenham Campus Student Center.  The public can also watch a livestream on Blinn’s YouTube channel.
