BLINN CHEER STUNT TEAM TAKES BRONZE AT NATIONALS

The first time was the charm for the Blinn College cheer stunt team.

The team placed third at the Universal Cheerleaders Association National Partner Stunt Girls “4” Championship in Orlando, Fla.

It marked the first time Blinn has qualified and sent a stunt team to nationals.

The team consisted of Amber Whitworth, Cheyenne Foreman, Dena Robison and Caitlyn Stovall

Blinn cheer coach Michael Brewster praised the team members for putting in overtime practice time apart from normal cheerleading practice, as well as their studies – all four made the Fall 2015 Don Wilhelm Athletic Director’s Honor Roll with grade point averages above 3.0.

Stovall said “It got overwhelming at times, but it was definitely worth it.”

The Blinn cheer and dance teams will look for their third consecutive national championship at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in April in Daytona Beach, Fla.
